>> covering the nation this morning, four people are dead and eight others seriously injured after an alleged drunk driver slammed into a crowd of people at a las vegas bus stop. gary was airborne and spun out before slamming into the bus stop. three women and one man waiting at the bus stop were killed and three others standing niche and three others were treated for injuries ranging from serious to critical and gary is charged with four counts of homicide. university officials look into allegations of hazing. the university drum line is being investigating. the school did not provide details about the evidence or the nature of the alleged hazing. the issue of hazing grabbed

24 hours. this one will come through tonight and this one early in the morning. there's a slight chance this one could give us some rain overnight. you can see light rain across indiana. mostly computer models have that rain falling apart by the time it gets hear. but after 6:00 and overnight there's about a 20%-30% chance that we could see a little bit of rain. in the short term we can see high cloud cover. winds have shifted to the south. the dew points are coming up just a touch. we are not expecting any rain throughout the day but you will see the high cloud cover thicken up a bit. 56 at the airport. 60 in catonsville and 55 in westminster. we will get up to about 83 this afternoon.

so the forecast for today, a mixture of sunshine and clouds. a slight chance for rain showers overnight. the high temperature between 80-85. southwest wind at 10-15 knots, waves at about 22 feet. about a half-hour from now. at 5:43. early saturday morning i will put in a forecast for possibly a couple rain showers. if you have outdoor plans it will be good. 78 on saturday. 77 for sunday and back up to 80 on monday before rain comes in on tuesday of next week. >> in this morning's "consumer alert," they are doing it again. airfares are on the rise. southwest airlines led by raising rates $10 each way. didn't take long for u.s. airways and jetblue to follow

nine minutes on 895 between the harbor tunnel and south side. so no delays at this early hour. the area of 29 in howard county, eastbound traffic is coming towards us. you can see it's picking up just a tad but nothing to cause a delay just yet. switching over to south 100. you can see activity picking up but no delays. >> just days to have second gun incident on the grounds of a baltimore county school, city officials are rolling out a plan to make their city safer. >> plans on what will be unveiled later today. >> the school superintendent has been saying all along that he wants to cast a larger net when it comes to safety and security, and that will happen first thing this morning. >> there have been two major gun incidents in baltimore county school one at terry hall

high school where a teenaged gunman shot a classmate in the school cafeteria then an 8th grader showed up with a loaded gun where he threatened his teacher and a class full of students. 11 news learned school officials have called a mandatory meeting with teachers and staff across the county. >> tomorrow there's information coming out that will help them to not only understand what their role is but also to help the students understand what their role is. and i believe things will be coming out for parents as well. >> and to share an updated reporting system even an anonymous tip line and they plan to talk about the role of soon-to-be-hired security director. the teachers union supports any training in place to help make schools safer. >> i think a lot of issues have to do with advanced warning and paying attention, and knowing

a suspect or possible motive or the victim's conditions is not known. and the police have made an arrest in a double shooting in mount vernon. one death resulted from that shooting. quinton shot and killed 40-year-old alex you will rich and critically wounded 56-year-old larry appearance back on august 10 in an attempted robbery outside a bed and breakfast and police are looking into the possibility he is responsible for other recent robberies. >> the grief at a funeral for a fallen county deputy is multiplied after a fellow officer suffers a deadly heart astack tack during the service. he was attending the funeral service when he suffered the heart attack, we're told he died the following day. he is the third officer in harford county to die in the last few weeks. the first was killed when his

car slid off the road into a tree, and another died when he fell over the side of highway 395 in baltimore. that accident remains under investigation. >> the lawyer for john leopold is asking for new testimony alleging gender discrimination by her client be tossed out. the motion calls for the recent lawsuit inpertinent. the attorney is attacking the new claims saying they contain irrelevant matters and the lawsuit accuses men of harassment that created a hostile working environment. and the i-team learned state prosecutors have reached an agreement to resolve two criminal cases against alston,

a prince george's county democrat accused of using campaign funds to buy a wedding dress and using taxpayer money to pay an employee at her launch we're told this will be put on record next week. >> and the public service commissions examined their response to last june's severe storms that knocked out power to hundreds of thousands for days. defending its response to the massive power outages, they say they were dealing with a shortage of manpower for the first number of days as many has been released to work on other projects in virginia. >> assuming we had had the heads up and had people hear, we probably would have restored service quicker than we did in this storm. there's a growing gap and divide between what customer expectations are for restoration in a hurricane-like storm versus the reality of the system that we actually have today. >> despite the limited manpower
